The information collected is used to help us provide a safe, appropriate training environment. Medical and health information should only be used where relevant to participation, safety and emergency response.
Please provide only information relevant to safe participation in physical activity and professional wrestling training.
Physical Contact in Coaching
Professional wrestling is a physical activity. Training necessarily involves controlled physical contact with coaches and other participants as part of learning wrestling safely.
This can include demonstrating wrestling holds and positioning; controlled partner exercises; guiding the position of arms, legs, shoulders or body posture; supporting or spotting a participant while learning a movement; practising controlled wrestling techniques with another participant; and physical intervention by a coach where reasonably necessary to prevent injury.
Coaches are expected to use physical contact only where it is appropriate to professional wrestling training, necessary for instruction or safety, and consistent with professional coaching and safeguarding standards.
Participants are encouraged to tell a coach immediately if they are unsure or uncomfortable about an exercise or any physical contact.
Professional wrestling training is physically demanding and may include activities involving balance, movement, controlled falls, holds, partner work, strength, coordination and other physical skills.
BritPro Wrestling Academy aims to provide structured, progressive training appropriate to a participant's age, experience and ability. As with other physical and contact sports, participation carries a risk of injury, including bruising, strains, sprains and, less commonly, more significant injury.
Participants must follow coach instructions, only attempt techniques they have been instructed to perform, train in a controlled manner, tell a coach immediately if they are injured or unwell, and inform the Academy of relevant changes to health or injury status.
In the event of an accident or medical emergency, Academy staff may provide appropriate first aid and contact the emergency services where reasonably necessary. For participants under 18, reasonable efforts will be made to contact the parent or guardian as soon as possible.
Photography and filming are not required in order to participate. These choices are optional and can be changed for future activity by contacting the Academy.
